KGHynobirthing has a strong component of ensuring women are well-informed about the processes of birth as well as giving them the tools they need to navigate the medical system that all too often surrounds birth.
Beyond all that, I wholeheartedly believe in the power of the mind and know that KGHynobirthing can and does have a profound effect on labour and birth.
When in pregnancy is it best to do hypnobirthing? How long is the course? Is it worth doing if I know I am going to have a planned c-section?
You can find the answers to these questions and more in the FAQs
Lucy Hussey, rosebud birthing founder.
Hello! I’m a mum of three with a passion for birth and babies. I first discovered hypnobirthing when I was expecting my first baby in 2012. I took the Katharine Graves Hypnobirthing course and found it incredibly helpful, both during pregnancy and for the birth itself. Since then, I’ve had two more babies and learned a lot more about pregnancy, birth and the positive impact of KGHypnobirthing.
I think all women should be able to go into their birth with a good understanding of what is happening, what is likely to happen and with techniques at their disposal to ensure they have the most calm and positive experience possible, no matter what happens on the day (and yes, hypnobirthing is useful if you are having a planned c-section). In addition to being a fully qualified KGHypnobirthing teacher, I am also currently a trainee Breastfeeding Counsellor with the ABM.
When I was younger, I studied social anthropology (and archaeology) at Cambridge University, travelled and lived abroad – including in New York City, trained as a massage therapist, and spent many years as a Communications / PR professional. These days I am a big fan of walks in the woods, baking bread, drinking tea, reading murder mysteries, watching Netflix and playing dinosaurs.
I run friendly, informative (and hopefully fun!) courses both online and in person (within 15 miles of Amersham, Bucks). Please do get in touch if you have any questions or would like to book a course. I promise I’m not as dour faced as my photo would suggest.
